Dixons Tax Free Heathrow T4 I have to give it to Dixons they have really turned themselves around! I used to be cautious about buying products from them as i felt that they lacked knowledge.
I was traveling to NBO via Heathrow and thought i would try buying a digital camera.
I was served by a young gentleman called Darrell, WOW, what an asset to the company he really is. He was polite, kind and knew his stuff! Usually sales staff are rushing you and want to serve as many people as they can. He was by far different - he gave me an in depth overview of ll the requested cameras an advised me well.

I have to say thanks to this man i will be returning my custom to Dixons! You need more staff like this member.

Wrong Spec Ordered Advent netbook that should have had 1024mb RAM but received with only 512mb. Don't worry we will send you out the 512mb so you can fit it!! Are they joking? Whilst I could fit it, why should I and in the process lose the ability to upgrade later as all slots would be used. Extremely disappointing to say the least. Customer service was a joke after numerous options I got to speak to someone who said that's right it should be 1024mb it says so on my screen. Aaaah! Try agin and eventually find someone who will book a return for me. Nice machine (or it could be) but poor service.

Everything went right The whole of the communication and delivery process was flawless - ordered Friday night, emailed acknowledgement, Saturday morning, emailed explanation of the process Saturday morning, emailed confirmation and receipt Tuesday morning, emailed dispatch note with traking details Tuesday morning, and delivery 09:10 Wednesday morning; this was with the free "5-day" delivery service and working hours of 9 to 5 Mon-Fri set out on website.

Good Service is never praised! Ordered a TomTom 920T on Wednesday 16 January; they said 5 working days delivery. Turned up this morning, Monday 21 January - 3 working days. Excellent ordering and delivery & the goods work OK so far. Have not tested their customer service - hopefully I won't have to!

UPDATE - Incorrect product delivered - no customer service. To continue the saga .... I received a further email from Dixons on the morning of 8 January saying an order with a new reference number had been created. At 17:35 the same day I received another email saying they were starting to process my order but a third email, sent at the same time, stated my refund had been processed for the amount of the purchase price! What was I to believe? I hadn't cancelled the order. I also noted, according to their website, they were out of stock of the item. I sent an email off to the Customer Service department asking them to re-instate the order and asking them to acknowledge my request by 18:00 the next day.

Needless to say I received no reply by that time. I was prepared to ring Head Office again the following morning to complain but received an automated email from them that morning saying the item had been dispatched with a DHL tracking number. I thought I'd hold fire and wait to see what happened - particularly as their website said the item was back in stock again. Well, I received the item I'd ordered on 15 December on the following day - 11 January!

At 18:22 on the day of delivery I finally received a reply to my email of 8 January. It said, according to their records, the item had already been delivered at 15:07 that day! They didn't actually add "so what are you complaining about" but that is how it felt. They did add the earlier email notifying me of the refund was automatically generated and should have said 'refund for £0'. They apologised for the confusion caused.

Quite honestly, their customer service is appalling. They don't seem to know what they are doing and rely on a flawed automated system that cannot cope with any interaction with human beings. The only thing that could be said in their favour is they were offering item I was ordering at the lowest price I could find - but at what cost in terms of hassle and inconvenience. If it were possible I would give them no stars.

    DONT USE DIXONS!! Absolute rubbish
was told my olympus 790 would be here in 5 working days, 8th day, no sign of it, called them up wasted my lunchtimes, breaks everything to get through to someone who knew what they was talking about!! Turns out DHL had "lost" the item, fair enough, i asked for them to send one out special delievery and they said i would have to wait ANOTHER 5 days for them to dispatch another. Absolute joke, i have no camera and decided to get a full refund and take my business eleswhere.

Incorrect product delivered - no customer service. Ordered Miele vacuum cleaner online Saturday 15 December 2007. Monday 17 received email confirming the order. Tuesday 18 December a vacuum cleaner delivered by DHL (what excellent service I thought) but, on checking, found to be a model from a different manufacturer.
Sent email to Dixons Customer Service within 15 minutes of delivery - no response. Sent another email later that day and on each of the following 3 days - no response.
Friday 21 December received an email from Dixons with a DHL tracking number for the package - unfortunately it referred to the incorrect item already delivered 4 days before!
Saturday 22 December rang Head Office of DSG Retail Ltd (parent company of Dixons) to complain about the absence of any customer service. Steps were to be taken to send me a return label so I could contact DHL to arrange a collection to have the item exchanged. Label arrived 29 December and the incorrect item successfully collected 3 January 2008. The item will be returned by DHL at their 'economy' rate - ie slowly. Dixons undertake to exchange the item only after they have received it but according to their website, the item is now out of stock.
I object to the tardiness of response using Dixons published email address (I finally received a reply to my original email of 17 December on 29 December).
I object to the use of premium rate telephone numbers to pursue problems with Dixons that way. I object to using premium rate telephone numbers to contact DHL to arrange collection.
I am now wondering if, when their website originally said they had stock, they sent the wrong item because they hadn't in fact any stock.
If you are lucky enough to have the item you ordered delivered, the service would have been good. In the event of something going wrong then god help you. Don't expect any customer service. I am now wondering when I can expect the item ordered nearly 3 weeks ago - maybe next week? I'm only thankful I wasn't relying on Dixons promise of delivery before Christmas and that it wasn't a Christmas present.
I for one will not be using Dixons again.

Worst service in the world No matter what I seem to want, it isn't in stock for order via their website. The site is poor to use, as you need to enter your postcode before they indicate whether it is in stock or not. Even then, there is no guarantee that it is actually in stock. It isn't beyond imagination for them to have live stock lists on their site, like the best online merchants. Deal with Dixons at your peril.

Samsung 23" LE23R71WX HD Ready LCD TV (White) I ordered this television 2 weeks before Christmas and there was no indication on the website that it was out of stock. In fact it said that it would be delivered by 22.12.07 - great because I wanted it before Christmas! When by 19.12.07 I hadn't heard from them re. delivery I checked the status of it online and all it said was 'order received'. The next day it said the same thing, so I phoned them up. The lady looked it up and said, 'Oh yes, it's out of stock and we're not getting any more in!' She sounded very surprised when I started shouting my displeasure down the phone!!!! I received an email the following day from them telling me that it was out of stock!

If only I'd gone to another supplier I would now be in possession of the television. I will never order anything from Dixons online again and recommend no one else does either!
