The ability to study or work from home is important to many people. School pupils and older students often need a place to organize their studies. Adults too may well study from home and are increasingly likely to work from home as well, at least for some of the time. Having a dedicated desk is often an excellent way to focus the mind (and organize the materials) of people who are using part of their home for study or work. Of course, space is often at a premium in modern homes, which is why a corner desk can often be the best choice, as it tucks away neatly into space which could otherwise be wasted. Modern desks are designed to house computer equipment and their associated peripherals such as printers and scanners as well as the pens and pieces of paper which seem to accumulate in any study or work space.
