Sparks exploded onto these shores back in 1974, their debut and most famous hit, "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us", as camp and histrionic as the duo themselves. An unforgettable combination, brothers Ron and Russell Mael have weathered the storm ever since, although, misleadingly, this retrospective tells only half their story. All the early singles, including frenetic glam stomp, "Amateur Hour" and the new wave-baiting "Funny Face", are present and correct, so too the fruits of a Giorgio Moroder-produced electro-disco period.
